WEST OF TWIN PEAKS, San Francisco — West Portal Playground near Ulloa and Lenox streets remains open for neighborhood recreation, but visitors should distinguish its daily park hours from seasonal restroom availability.
San Francisco Recreation and Parks lists the park as open from 5 a.m. to midnight. In fall and winter, restroom hours are 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., rather than the longer spring-and-summer schedule. Facilities include an accessible children’s play area, athletic space, a fenced dog area, tennis, picnic facilities and a community room.
Having a park or clubhouse open does not mean every organized activity can be attended without registration or that athletic facilities are always unreserved. Children should be supervised near the adjoining streets, transit station and active recreational areas.
What residents should know
Families can check the department’s official facility page for maintenance issues, park rules and the process to report damaged equipment. If a visit depends on an accessible restroom or specific facility, verify its status before travel.
